The National Youth Service Summit was held in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 1-3, 2011. Mrs. Fujimoto, SIA advisor, and Ms. Romito took four Mighty Student Leaders to the conference. The students were Karolyn Denise Jones, N'dea Davis, Briantay Burnett, and Tatiana Williams.
The conference was located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel right downtown. After an exciting five hour journey on the Megabus, we were ready to learn more ways to get Dunbar involved in community service. We met lots of new people and can't wait to share what we've learned with our school!

Welcome to the Dunbar Mighty Students in Action Blog!
This year Dunbar is proud to welcome the Jefferson Awards Students in Action! We formed in October, and have gotten a lot done considering our first year in existence.
Our goal is to promote and celebrate student service. We have so many students at Dunbar who have shown a true commitment to public service, and the Students in Action are here to recognize those students! At the same time, we want to give all students opportunities to volunteer. If you are looking for an opportunity to serve, find one of your Student Leaders, and we'll put you in touch with the right people!
